Rest in peace, Miss Lo Hwei Yen...

The tragic and untimely death in Mumbai of Singaporean hostage Lo Hwei Yen has shocked the nation.

My deepest condolences goes out to Miss Lo and her family.

Miss Lo, a 28-year-old attorney, is the first Singaporean to die in a terrorist attack. Miss Lo was the eldest of the three children of a businessman and housewife. A law graduate of the National University of Singapore, Miss Lo worked with Stephenson Harwood, a foreign law firm based here.

She had gone to Mumbai on Wednesday to attend a business seminar and it was meant to be only a one-night trip. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that the worst had happened, late on Friday.

Her body was found on the 19th floor of The Oberoi Trident Hotel. She was among 24 Oberoi hotel hostages found dead on Friday.

A memorandum has been set up for her @ Facebook. You may send your condolences to Miss Lo's family there.

Probably after some weeks or months, this may fade away to be just another memory. But even if they are forgotten, let the Internet survive.

Let's put all our thoughts to making the Internet more robust, terrorist proof and retentive. Thank you Google.... for trying to archive everything.
